The doughnut cabinet

Before Burg World there was Doughnut World, the gourmet doughnut shop Darren and Stacey ran in Daisy Hill. The cabinet came with them. It opens at 8am with coffee and drinks, three hours before the burger kitchen fires up.

Flavours change with what they feel like baking. Lately the labels have read like this:

Our story

It started with a birthday doughnut burger

Darren and Stacey Kelly are a husband-and-wife team. For a few years they ran Doughnut World, a gourmet doughnut shopfront in Daisy Hill. For its second birthday they made a one-off special: smash patties, cheese and pickles between two glazed doughnuts.

It went so well that they decided to build a shop around the idea. Burg World opened on 30 September 2023 at 20 Siganto Drive, Helensvale, a couple of minutes from the theme park strip. The name is a nod to the neighbours.

When they couldn’t find trades to finish the fit-out, they did it themselves, with help from family, friends and a lot of online tutorials. The result is lavender and red, white subway tiles, black pendant lights and plush red booths, with room for 25 or so inside and out.

The menu still runs on the same idea: smash burgers made by people who care about food, a doughnut cabinet that changes with their mood, and a rotating special so there is always a reason to come back.
